The Journey Begins.....

Several people have requested we start a blog so they can follow our new adventures.  I am not great at writing so you will have to bear with me and ignore my grammar mistakes  (I know this will be difficult for a few of you, while others will not even notice).  So anyways, here goes!

A little back story..... June 2011 Kenneth and I decided to sell our home and find something new! We have really wanted to try and move out of state but that didn't seem to be working out the way we wanted.  My parents allowed us to move in with them while we looked for something new!  Kenneth continued to apply for jobs in Colorado, while we saved up some money to purchase something here.  In late September he got the call that he was always dreaming of.  A school district in Farmington, New Mexico wanted to speak to him and was willing to wait for our October Anniversary trip to have his interview.  The interview went very quick and he wasn't sure if he would be offered the job.  We flew back home after a nice weekend away and on Tuesday morning he got the call.  They wanted him, at the money he wanted, and they gave him 3 start date options.  Nov. 1, Dec. 1 or Jan. 1st.  This was great news for us BUT a little shocking for the rest of our families! His dream had finally happened and we were moving to Durango, Colorado.  Now we had to figure out the logistics of it all.  We decided Kenneth would go in January and the kids and I would stay behind and come when school got out.  For those of you who know me, you know how hard that was for me!  I DO NOT like our family being split up.  The past 6 months have been full of making lasting memories with our families, traveling up to Colorado to visit Kenneth, the loss of my grandmother (who was SO excited about us leaving the nest and trying something new, she couldn't wait to hear all about our adventures.  We know that she is watching and smiling down on us), I decided to leave my company after 10 years, then got hired back as a subcontractor doing Certified Payroll.  Lots of changes are occurring! That brings us to today!

We finished up the final packing of all the stuff the kids and I have obtained while living with my parents!  Then we loaded it all into my parents car, shockingly it all fit!! We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives.  1st and foremost our family. My parents have been so gracious to allow us to OVERTAKE their home for the last 10 or so months!  I know that part of them is sad to see us leave, but I also know they are ready to have their lives and space back! Kenneth's entire family has been so supportive of our new journey, and we are so grateful. My sister cried at first and then wouldn't speak to me for a little bit, but I think she is excited for us but it is a huge change and she isn't liking it much! She has been wonderful after the initial shock wore off! (I love you Janelle)  My Brother and Sister-in-law have been great support while I have been a "single" parent!!  We are going to miss everyone very much, especially all our nephews and niece, they are going to be so grown by the next time we see them in December!!  Our words could never express how much each and everyone one of you mean to us! We will always be a family and no amount of distance can change that.  2nd I have some of the most AMAZING friends!  I could not have made it through the last 6 months without ya'll!

Tomorrow we will leave Houston for the last time (for a while) it will be an interesting adventure.  I've never lived farther than 5 miles from the house I grew up in, but my family will once again be united and that is something I am very excited about! <p>I will do my best to update this blog often (at least weekly Carly!!)
