The wildfires near us are out!!! Praise the Lord we had no deaths and no loss of homes! We drove by the biggest one out near us the other day and it got very very close to some houses and the main highway. The firefighters and law enforcement did a SUPER job! The rest of the state has not been so lucky. Colorado Springs and Denver area has lost many many homes and at least 3 lives. They are making headway on those fires, but they still need your prayers!
We are in monsoon season here in southwest colorado. Which from what we can tell means we have a 30% chance of rain everyday for a week. Ha ha! There was an article in the Durango newspaper yesterday about our need for rain. By mid year Durango's normal rainfall amount is 6 inches! We have only got 2.7 inches this year. WOW what a drought, ha ha, it is nothing like what we were used to in Texas.
Due to the lack of rain state wide and the active wildfires across the state, our governor banned all private fireworks. He left the decisions of city displays up to their local law enforcement, but warned that if a fire started there would be no government assistance with money to pay for those fires. So nobody in our area had fireworks. Farmington, NM other the other hand had a display on the 3rd, which was a little strange for us. 4th of July fireworks on July 3rd. We drove into town and watched, it was a nice display. We spent July 4th running errands, playing at the park (which is also the school playground) and grilling hamburgers. It was strange to not be with my family because that is how we always spend the 4th. My dad and I always watch the Boston Pops on TV (even though it was only an hour long and they used to show the entire concert) so that is what we did as a family. God gave us his fireworks and rain for the 4th. Much needed!

| FINALLY! I have waited since April to put my bottle tree up and have bottles on it. Kenneth had to burry it because of the wind here so it is more like a bottle bush right now! I love it! Need to start drinking more to fill it up :-) |
